Pismo Boho Beach Elopement

Pismo Boho Beach Elopement - Tree Grove Location, Elopement in Pismo Beach

Where do you start with planning a wedding? For some couples this can be a difficult tasks - who do you invite, where do you have the wedding, what date is meaningful?

After being engaged for a few years, an elopement, with just the two of you is probably the best way to get married! If you are an easy going couple, who loves the beauty of the beach, and wants to celebrate their love. If planning a wedding sounds stressful, make the event only about the two of you. My favorite weddings are elopements.

Sometimes the couple keeps their elopement a secret with plans to tell friends and family later that night. Other couples decide to turn their elopement into an extended honeymoon. Whatever your plans are, settle on the beautiful California Coast for a boho beach elopement.

This couple wanted a natural, boho feel to their wedding day. They were drawn to the Tree Grove location - the bride was a lover of trees and the groom a lover of water from his years spent surfing.

Drawn to Pismo Beach since it was one of the places they stopped on their first road trip. They had also carved their initials in the rocks of Shell Beach. At that time, they probably had no idea that they’d return to Pismo Beach to be married.

Since the couple wanted a more elegant natural beach wedding, Emily photographed their Pismo Beach elopement. I love the candid photos that she did of the couple. The bride commented that Emily really got them as a couple. There was such warmth and love that showed through in the couple’s photos.

One reason why I love Pismo Beach for elopements is because it’s a great destination to not only get married, but to have a honeymoon at. For our couples, they normally stay a few days after the elopement to enjoy the beauty of the Central Coast.

This wedding was a perfect boho beach elopement. It first started with the joy felt by the bride when she decided that it was time to get married. She’d always known that November was the month she wanted as her wedding date. We planned their boho beach wedding within a few days. How stress less would it be to know that within a matter of days you were getting married. The more time you have to plan, the more overwhelming you can feel. Don’t worry about us planning in a matter of days. I’ve planned a few weddings with a days notice. As long as the legal parts are figured out and our team is available, we can plan a next day elopement.

To plan a beach boho wedding, I feel it’s about the location in a natural setting. In Pismo Beach, my favorite setting would be walking though eucalyptus trees, blue waters, some clouds in the sky and your toes in the sand. We have 2 locations with the boho vibe. Moonstone Beach in Cambria also gives off a beach boho vibe. It has a small sandy beach, rock, and large cypress trees.

Next, would be the outfits for the couple. The bride’s dress for our boho beach elopement was a long, lacy dress with bell sleeves. The groom wore a suit. Other examples of boho wedding dresses would be ones with lace, flowey, easy to wear fabrics, and casual. These dresses are not your traditional form fitting wedding dress with a train. A simple cream wedding dress may be another option for a boho beach elopement.

Another one of our brides went for the boho look with her wedding dress below. It was simple yet elegant.

For the bride’s bouquet eucalyptus is always a go to for boho beach elopements. The shades of darker free, firmer texture and natural flowing look is a must for a boho beach elopement bouquet. There are a few different types of eucalyptus that our floral designers use for boho beach elopements. I like to have the front of the bouquet heavier with colorful florals and the eucalyptus wrapped around the stems and to the sides. Since the boho bouquet is not round, make sure to ask your florist or wedding coordinator where the front of your bouquet is. Make sure that you and your [photographer pay attention to the front of the bouquet and have the forward for photos. Also, since the boho beach wedding bouquet is a little more wild, it’s also important to have the bouquet held lower to your belly. I always tell brides to make sure their thumb is touching their belly button. It’s a good rule of thumb to accent your dress and make sure your bouquet doesn’t take over.

For a beach boho elopement, I feel shoes are not optional! If the bride is wanting to wear shoes, I suggest a cute candle in brown color or some simple flats that you can slip on and off. For brides getting married in the sand, a wedge and hells are really hard to walk in. If you have a longer dress, a cute boot would also work as shoes to wear. In the cooler weather, I wear a boot when coordinating beach weddings. They are perfect for keeping out the sand too.

The bride’s hair would be cute with a side braid with half of the hair up. A flower or greenery crown works well too for a bobo beach elopement. Etsy has some really simple eucalyptus crows. Our bride from this boho beach elopement picked greenery from her garden and added pieces of it to hear up do. Beach waves or soft curls would also be a great hair style for a beach elopement.

To end the special day, I’d recommend adding a blanket and a little bubbly to your wedding bag. Take a walk down to the beach, snuggle up with the one you just said I do to, watch the sunset and toast to a happily ever after.
