Morro Bay Beach Small Wedding

We have 2 Morro Bay wedding locations for our couple to choose from.

The location below, in the video, gives you a view of Morro Rock.  This location has pretty rock formations for photos and still gives you the Rock in the distance.  This location is best for smaller weddings with up to 15 guests since the parking is limited.

The second location below has Morro Rock a little closer for you and your guests.  This location has plenty of parking and a bathroom.  As a bonus, there's a grassy space with some trees for another backdrop for photos.

Make Morro Bay your destination wedding location!

Head north on Hwy 1 and you will find the town of Morro Bay. You can’t miss this seaside town. Just look for Morro Rock (actually a giant ancient volcanic plug) which rises 576 feet from the ocean. Though you cannot climb the rock, bring your binoculars and look for the peregrine falcons that call the rock their home. Or, you can park in the parking lot near the rock and watch the sea otters at play. If it’s adventure that you are looking for, you can try kayaking, paddleboarding, or even paragliding. For those who want something less strenuous, just stroll the Embarcadero, and peek inside some of the many shops and galleries. Or, head to my favorite, the Garden Gallery, and treat yourself to a souvenir, plants for your outdoor space or add a few new succulents to your home garden. The town has explore one of the many antique and thrift stores for treasures from the past. Another place to check out is the shell shop, if you want to take home some beautiful shells. It’s been a favorite since I was a kid. Every time we’d come over to Morro Bay I’d grab some shells to take back home.

If you visit around breakfast time, treat yourself to crème brulee French toast at Frankie’s and Lola’s. For lunch, try the fish and chips at the family-owned Dutchman’s Seafood House.  If you want to sit outside while enjoying your food, stop by Tognazzini’s Dockside Café, where many afternoons you can also enjoy live entertainment. For a more elegant dining experience, try Windows by the Water. And, don’t miss one of my favorites, Dorns’s Breakers Café, for their delicious fish and chips, shrimp Louie salads, fried artichokes, and clam chowder. Dorn’s has been around for years as a favorite! They also have large party reservations so it’s a great place for a late lunch or early dinner after your Morro Bay small wedding.

If you are still up to a little more exploring, get back on Highway 1 and drive a little farther north to the seaside town of Cayucos. If your sweet tooth is calling, head to the Cayucos Candy Counter for the best turtles, truffles, or yummy ice cream and gelato. Or, stop by Brown Butter Cookie Factory for a special treat. Perhaps, you want to walk on the pier. Originally built in 1872, the pier was closed in 2013, reconstructed and re-opened in 2015. But, my favorite activity is to walk the beach and to collect rocks and shells.  It's also peaceful to listen to the sound of the waves and beautiful surrounding around me.

So, take your pick and enjoy your day on the Central Coast. Hike, eat, shop, snap photos, or just relax as you explore the towns around Morro Bay and enjoy!
