With Christmas less than 10 days away I am anxiously awaiting deliveries of presents. This year I did a lot of my Christmas shopping online.  With online shopping comes delays in processing, shipping, communication and delivery.  I am sure I am not the only customer who wants to know where their package is. I can understand that businesses must get a lot of emails this time of year.

I’ve encountered some great customer service and some not so great customer service. As I am on the end as a customer I am reminded how my couples must feel when they are going through the process of finding the right place to have their wedding.  I try to provide couples with top customer service – responding back to emails within a certain amount of time, answering questions (even those questions that may seem small to me but are important for the bride to get an answer on), and being positive and helpful whenever I can!  By being a customer this holiday season I am reminded of what not to my clients and how I shouldn’t treat them.

For my shopping I used Etsy to buy a lot of things. I like how the gifts are unique and one of a kind.  I worked with a lady who didn’t have a lot of sales but great feedback for an ornament.  She was so nice to work with! She answered all of my questions (even the ones she probably thought were not important), got back to me right away, and shipped out the item quickly.  For another gift I used a shop with a lot of sales.  This shop didn’t provide great customer service and wrote back an email quoting their policies and didn’t add any holiday cheer to their message. It didn’t really make me think that I wanted to buy from them in the future.  Great customer service can set a shop (or business) apart from another.  One of my goals is to make the bride and groom’s wedding experience positive from the first email they write to me to the last email I send to them.

I hope you have had some great customer service experiences and let the business know what a great job they did!

Happy shopping🙂
