Cambria Beach Elopement

This couple, who live in Oregon, outside of Portland, had a very special request.   They asked that we travel to San Simeon for their elopement.   Originally, we were going to hike to a secluded spot that they had chosen several months before.   It was up a winding path, above the beach, and nestled in the trees.   But, the couple ended up with a Cambria Beach Elopement, surrounded by cypress trees, on a bluff overlooking the oceanThe ocean was a sparkly blue as was the sky, and clouds floated by on this bright, sunny day.   Though the location had changed, everything was perfect.

The couple had requested a religious ceremony, with some Catholic elements, since the bride is Catholic.   I always love to personalize the ceremonies, so for this couple, I not only added a special prayer at the beginning of the wedding, but also a blessing of the rings, in addition to a final blessing.   And, since we were surrounded with such beautiful scenery, I made several references to our surroundings.

The couple had composed letters to each other that they read before saying their “I do’s”, mentioning that their relationship began with friendship, then love, and then devotion, leading up to their commitment to each other today.   Their words to each other were so intimate and personal, as were the smiles and kisses they exchanged throughout the ceremony.   They were so much in love!
